Privacy Policy

⚠ Template notice: This Privacy Policy is a starting template, not legal advice. Please have it reviewed by a qualified attorney before you publish or rely on it.

This Privacy Policy explains how Main Street Web ("Main Street Web," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit mortarweb.com (the "Site") or contact us about our services. By using the Site or contacting us, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you fill out our quote/contact form, use our website assistant, or email or call us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, business name, and any details you choose to share about your project.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device, referring page, and the pages you view, for security and operational purposes.

What we do not do. Our Site does not run advertising trackers, and by default it does not set marketing or analytics cookies. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information or payment card numbers through the Site.

2. How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiry and provide a quote.
  • To provide, maintain, and improve our services (designing, building, and supporting your website).
  • To communicate with you about your project, invoices, and your care plan.
  • To keep the Site secure and prevent abuse or spam.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

3. Third-party services we use

We rely on a small number of reputable service providers ("processors") to run the Site and our business. Each has its own privacy practices:

  • Form processing: our contact form is handled by our form provider (Netlify Forms by default, or Formspree), which receives the details you submit so we can read your message.
  • Website hosting: our hosting provider (Netlify or Vercel) serves the Site and may keep standard server logs.
  • Fonts: our fonts are self-hosted on the Site, so loading them does not send your information to a third-party font service.
  • Images: placeholder images may load from LoremFlickr until replaced with our own images.
  • Scheduling: if we offer call scheduling, it may be handled by a third-party scheduler such as Calendly.

4. Cookies

The Site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. Some third-party services above may set their own cookies when you interact with them. If we add cookie-based analytics in the future, we will update this Policy and, where required, request your consent.

5. How we share information

We share information only: (a) with the processors listed above, to operate the Site and serve you; (b) if required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights and safety; or (c) in connection with a business transfer (e.g., a merger or sale), subject to this Policy. We never sell your personal information.

6. Data retention

We keep inquiry and client information for as long as needed to respond to you, provide our services, and meet legal, tax, or accounting requirements, then delete or anonymize it. You may ask us to delete your information sooner (see Section 8).

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption and a strict content-security policy on the Site. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), the EU/UK (GDPR), and other regions may have specific rights. To make a request, email us at hello@mortarweb.com. We will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity.

9. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for business owners and is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Third-party links

The Site may link to other websites (for example, our demo projects or social profiles). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please review their policies.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version, and material changes will be posted on this page.
